The book is a bilingual collection of selected short stories by famous Japanese writers from the late 19th and the early 20th centuries. The admirers of Japanese literature will have the opportunity to meet again the famous Ryūnosuke Akutagawa, as well as to become acquainted with lesser-known japanese wordsmiths. The publication enables language learners to work with the original text and the translation into Bulgarian. The stories (except of the "Mandarins") in this book were translated for the first time in Bulgarian. The compilers and translators are Lyudmila Holodović (Japanese language professor and Japanese literature professor at the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”) and Alexander Kirov (Japanese Ph.D, graduated in Japanese at the Sofia University, St. Kliment Ohridski", who has specialized in various Japanese universities and the Japanese Language Center).

A noun in a Russian and Czech sentence can be an adjectival attribute, nominal attribute or genitive attribute, apart from predication. Moreover, both languages have constructions with invariable attributes in preposition, which have remained in active use for the last twenty-thirty years. This article demonstrates the various syntactic structure of the invariable attribute in preposition along with its relations with the three other types of attributes on the basis of the methodology of the structural semantics school proposed by V.V. Babajceva.

In this article we analyze some personal names in Russian anecdotes from the point of view of linguoculturology, applying methods of this relatively new linguistic discipline. The theory of anthropocentric language is key in modern linguistics from the end of the XX century, while the linguoculturology is the product of the anthropocentric paradigm in modern linguistics. Precedent personal names in modern anecdotes show, who is “the hero and anti-hero of contemporary times”. These names reflect part of the mentality of Russian speaker. The accumulation of background knowledge we need for understanding the comic effect of anecdotes as well as the ability to tell a joke –this is a part of a successful intercultural communication

Конференция продолжила серию конференций (2012 г., 2014 г.), организованных кафедрой русского языка и литературы педагогического факультета Университета им. Т. Г. Je známo, že ukrajinistika v české kultuře má dlouhou, skoro dvousetletou tradici, jejíž počátky jsou spojeny zejména s reakcí řady významných představitelů českého národa na ukrajinské obrozenecké hnutí (např. F. Palacký, P. J. Šafařík, K. Havlíček Borovský aj.). Začátek minulého století se v tehdejším společném státě Čechů a Slováků vyznačoval prohloubeným vědeckým zájmem o studium ukrajinského jazyka, což souviselo s připojením Podkarpatské Rusi k Československu. Především za podpory prezidenta T. G. Masaryka byl v roce 1922 založen Slovanský ústav, jehož jedna komise měla za cíl studium jazyka, kultury a ekonomiky Slovenska a Podkarpatské Rusi.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the “father of Slavic philology” Josef Dobrovský published his work entitled Basics of the Old Slavonic Language (1822). In doing so, he did not step on a previously untrodden ground but took as a basis the famous Slavonic Grammar (1619) by Meletius Smotritsky. The present text attempts to compare the point of view of the two authors, separated by 200 years, towards the same literary language – the Church Slavonic. It appears that while Meletius looked forward to the future, Dobrovsky looked back to the oldest state of an already classical language.

The author of the article aims to introduce Russian poetic texts into the teaching of Czech students on B1 level. The chosen teaching methodology is based on motivating the students with the use of Czech symbolist poetry by O. Březina and a subsequent analysis of a poem by V. S. Solovyov. Work with the poetry of both authors focuses on perceptual lexicon, which plays key role in uncovering the meaning of a symbolist text. Students can thus gain knowledge of polysemous words and their different author’s connotations in an enticing and creative way. This enhances not only their knowledge of the content and language, but also of the aesthetic component related to the main function of an artistic text.

This article describes Russian and Polish polyprefixation on the material of the group of verbs of silence. The analysis of historical and modern dictionaries combined with the functional-analytic approach to the text enable us to identify the hall marks of this language phenomenon in the Russian and Polish languages, to identify the most productive secondary prefixes and the specifics of their functioning.

The article analyses features of word formation in contemporary Russian and Croatian mass media texts. Active types, models and morphemes of word formation system used in both languages are determined. A comparative analysis of the ways of forming new words shows that occasionalisms in both languages can be created by conventional methods, such as affixation and composition or by non-conventional ways of word formation (contamination, derivation according to a specific pattern, graphoderivation).

The paper is devoted to the word formation of diminutive forms of nouns of the neuter gender (NG) in Russian and Czech. The paper presents diminutive suffixes of NG nouns in Russian and Czech according to grammars, as well as derivational dictionaries of both languages. In the last part of the paper, corpus data is provided regarding diminutives formed from the words слово, окно / slovo, okno that belong to the basic vocabulary of both languages.

As designated as signs for second nomination, through its internal form the phraseological units are characterized with their feature to carry more enlarged knowledge and help to make more explicit the peculiarities of its world perception in comparison to the signs of first nomination. The present paper is an attempt the semantic aspect of the phraseological units of the semantic field of the concept „bread” to be analyzed and in particular the phraseological units of the model „wealth-poverty”, which belongs to the same semantic field. It is emphasized the central position of the bread in the linguistic consciousness of Bulgarians, Russians and Greeks, as well as its fundamental role in the culture of these three nations.
