This study also deals with the attitude of individual authorities towards the "Jewish question", their attempts to expel the Jews from Prague and reduce the size of the ghetto, exploitation of the Jews through taxes, their imperilment by violent criminal acts, censorship and pressure exerted by missionaries and the situation in the Jewish self-administration.
